In November of 2022, the Holloway Foundation Hosted a trail hike and nature craft event for the ONEclub (Outdoor, Nature, Environment) from Tavares Middle School. Students enjoyed hiking the nature trails through the various habitats at the foundation farm, while collecting pine cones, twigs, rocks, moss, flowers and various other objects found along the trails to make nature crafts in the historic barn at the farm.
October 2023
Fall Fun Day on the Farm was a wonderful gathering of over 120 foundation guest and friends. Pumpkin Decorating, Games, Crafts, and music from acclaimed jazz guitarist Dave Skorupski entertained attendees during the day along with a presentation from the Leesburg High School Environmental Science dept on the chemistry of why leaves change color. Justin Low of Solar Energy Services also gave a presentation on the use of solar photovoltaics and its benefits to our environment. Guest enjoyed a traditional hay ride throughout the various areas of the farm and culminated the celebration with a scarecrow competition.
November 2023
Leesburg Cub Scout Pack 299 visited the foundation farm to celebrate one of the scouts’ birthday with a nature hike through the trails, feeding our koi at the koi pond, games at the barn, climbing in our 300-year-old grandfather oak, and of course cake!
