The Holloway Foundation hosts a variety of annual events and celebrations that bring the community together to connect with nature, engage in conservation activities, and enjoy seasonal traditions. From educational programs to festive holiday gatherings, our events offer something for everyone.
Our latest kayaking adventure with OneClub was one for the books! We kicked things off at the Lake Norris Conservation Area launch site in Eustis, FL, and paddled about 1.5 miles through the stunning, canopied cypress jungle of Blackwater Creek until we reached the open waters of Lake Norris.
From there, we continued our journey along the lake’s western shoreline, gliding past a breathtaking forest of dwarf cypress—trees that looked like giant bonsais straight out of a fairytale. After about 2 more miles, we reached our picnic spot where we shared a relaxed lunch, laughter, and great conversation.
As a bonus surprise, two vintage airplane formations soared overhead from a nearby airshow, adding a little extra magic to an already incredible day. With perfect weather, smooth water conditions, and a joyful crew, everyone returned smiling, dry, and already looking forward to the next adventure!
The Foundation proudly sponsored the Lake District Cub Scout Pinewood Derby—and what a day it was! Over 40 scouts and their siblings, along with more than 100 parents and family members, joined us for an exciting day filled with high-speed races and farm fun.
This year’s event featured a new twist: Lego Cars! Designed especially for the younger children, this hands-on addition was a hit and gave future scouts a playful introduction to car building and scouting activities.
The Holloway Foundation recently hosted an engaging program on nature photography, bringing together participants of all ages to explore the art of capturing the beauty of the outdoors. While children had a fantastic time learning photography techniques, adults were just as enthusiastic, proving that our programs inspire creativity and a love for nature at any age!
Our annual Fall Festival was a day filled with fun, laughter, and festive autumn traditions. Guests enjoyed the lively sounds of Six Strings and a Fiddle, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration.
Families and friends got creative with pumpkin painting and participated in our exciting scarecrow decorating race, bringing their imaginative designs to life. The festivities continued with hayrides around the farm, allowing guests to soak in the crisp autumn air and beautiful fall scenery.
A special highlight of the event was a reading of Thank Fall by Mrs. Leslie Scales-Holloway, adding a warm and reflective touch to the seasonal gathering. With great music, hands-on activities, and a wonderful community spirit, it was a perfect way to celebrate the beauty of fall!
